Who builds the A60i

Amotrol is the brand behind the A60i commercial hybrid autonomous mower. The machine comes out of two decades of building remote-controlled and autonomous mowing equipment for professional ground — slope mowers, remote-controlled machines, and now autonomous ones.

We came to autonomy from machinery, not from robotics

There are two routes into this market. One starts with a robot and adds a cutting deck. The other starts with commercial mowing equipment that already survives real ground, and adds autonomy to it.

We came the second way. The machines that preceded the A60i were remote-controlled slope and rough mowers — machines bought precisely because the ground was too steep, too rough or too dangerous to put an operator on. That heritage is why the A60i has four driven wheels, a lightweight aluminium chassis and a 60-inch three-disc deck rather than the drivetrain of a scaled-up garden robot.

It is also why it is a hybrid. When your customers are cutting acreage rather than lawns, the first thing they tell you about battery machines is that the charging window is the problem. So we built the machine around not having one: one tank of gasoline, twelve hours of mowing.

The same reasoning produced the body. Turf equipment that is too heavy damages the ground it is maintaining, and a battery big enough for a full shift is a great deal of weight to carry around all day. An automotive-grade all-aluminium body plus a small buffered pack instead of a large one puts the A60i 30 to 50 percent lighter than comparable machines — which is the specification our customers notice second, and remember first.

What we are honest about

Three things you will find on this site that you will not find on most equipment sites:

  • The price is published. $39,800 USD ex-works, on the price page, not behind a form.
  • We publish where the machine does not pay. Small, obstacle-dense or infrequently cut ground is a poor case, and the ROI calculator will tell you so with your own numbers in it.
  • We quote slope capability against your ground, not against a test lawn. Why →

That is not modesty. It is that a $39,800 machine sold onto the wrong property becomes a support problem, a bad reference and a returned unit, and all three cost more than the sale was worth.

At a customer site with the hood up. Machines get judged on what is under the cover and whether it can be serviced.

How we sell

Direct from the manufacturer, worldwide, with dealers appointed by territory.

Direct, where there is no dealer

You deal with the people who build the machine. Engineering questions get engineering answers rather than being escalated through three layers.

Through dealers, where there is one

Local service matters more than a marginal price difference on a machine that works several hundred hours a season. Dealer programme →

Demonstrated before purchase

Nobody should buy equipment at this price from photographs. We arrange on-site demonstrations and connect prospective buyers with operators on comparable ground.

Every machine has a file

Each A60i leaves the factory with a quality-control record, and that record becomes the beginning of a service file that stays with the serial number for the life of the machine: inspections, parts fitted, modifications, maintenance history.

The practical value shows up years later. When a machine needs a part, the question "which configuration is this one?" already has an answer, and a dealer or a technician is not guessing from a photograph. More on support and warranty →
